How to Make...
Antique Vellum Paper

Here is a cheap way to re-create the look of aged vellum paper - recycles old tea bags and keeps kids entertained!

You will need:

  • 2 sheets of paper
  • Used tea bags
  • Iron

Instructions

  1. Crumple the paper then smooth out again
  2. Make the paper damp
  3. Soak the used teabags in more warm water
  4. Place the tea bags onto your paper - rub if you want an all over effect, squash for darker bits etc.
  5. Put a second piece of paper on top and leave for a couple of hours
  6. Dry the paper and then iron it flat

If you want to create watermarks try placing objects or shapes into onto the wet paper, or try 'teabag' around a shape like a stencil. Let the paper dry before removing.

TIP: try adding food colouring to get different effects
