Greeting Card Factory Inserts

The newest version of Greeting Card Factory
(GCF) is supplied on just 1 DVD - older versions needed 4 CDs to be installed!

Installation is fairly straightforward - just follow the prompts on your screen. Once installed you are entering a whole new world of wonderful inserts that will amaze your family and friends and really put your cards up there with the shop bought ones!

So what is so good about Greeting Card Factory? Well to start with it is so easy to use – you decide what it is you wish to create – a poster, greeting card, certificate even a complete calendar.

But I think as a card maker, it is worth every penny just to finish off my cards with a stunning insert. Greeting Card Factory is full of exciting artwork to suit every occasion – even those we rarely hear about.

Creating Inserts

To start with we need to select the correct size blank insert – which moves us automatically onto the design screen. All the tabs needed are shown down the side of the work space – its worth clicking on them to browse and even add to your blank as you simply hit delete to clear!

One really nice feature is that each tab has 'Fine Art' category i.e. animals. The heading is generally clipart type images whereas fine art is in a whole new world…

Once you chose your design it will need to be stretched to fit the area using the notches that are on the sheet – guidelines are always visible to line up to. A tip here, just do this to one side of the insert, then go to tools, COPY then PASTE – then move the copied section into place – next go to ARRANGE and click on FLIP HORIZONTALLY – your image will flip instantly so showing a double page insert with mirror image!

You can also chose to import you own artwork – so as to match the insert to outer the card.

In some cases the insert may need to be a little more transparent in order to see the verse you add – so go to EDITING tools along the side and all you need is there!

Back to the tabs now – you might prefer to use ADD ITEMS and then ADD A SENTIMENT. All the verses now appear and they are all in sections to make life easier. Simply browse the section, and click on the chosen verse – it will appear on your insert – but double click and you can edit easily, just highlight the text and change font, size, colour etc and click ok when finished!

To summarise...

Good Points...

- Easy to follow onscreen installation
- Suitable for every occasion
- Every religion covered in artwork and verse
- Suitable for all abilities
- Fun to use
- Value for money

In fact, there's so much on the program, the 1 DVD could be all you need!

Not so Good...

– It's American made, so verses not always appropriate for UK

- The artwork that has wording within it cant generally be used as in the UK we don’t say MOM or POP.

- Looking for some categories is harder as they are filed using American term.

- When printing you need to remember is will print outer as well as inner of insert unless you change in your printer settings.

Most of all though, remember - it's fun!!! Learn to use it and enjoy it...
